Consider a cotton ball in your hand and you are travelling through a train and that train is running.Suddenly due to some condition that cotton ball falls from your hand and it will fall near to your place only.Why so?
Why don't that cotton ball fall away from you. When the train is in full speed and you are holding that cotton ball it means it is in contact with you but since it fall at that FALLING instant it is in free space and there is no contact of that ball with your hand.Since it is in free space and the train is running,the cotton ball should fall far away from you rather near to you.
Think on it!!! Don't give the reason of gravity,rather find the actual reason behind it.
